Performance     PerformaThermTM thermometers have precise tolerances, low uncertainty, and quick response time like mercury instruments. Simply put, tolerance is the maximum permissible error of the instrument. Uncertainty is the maximum expected error of any reported reading. Response time is the time needed to get a reliable reading. To say that traditional spirit thermometers are as accurate as mercury is misleading, as shown in the chart below. Performance measures for spirit thermometers are all significantly different compared to mercury and PerformaTherm instruments.

Safety    PerformaTherm's STB blue liquid is safer than both mercury and most traditional spirit thermometer liquids. The proprietary formula is biodegradable, nontoxic, noncaustic, and nonhazardous. PerformaTherm is a revolutionary new thermometer unlike any on the market today. Therefore as part of our continuing safety initiative you may, upon request, return to us any one of your old mercury or spirit thermometers for each PerformaTherm you buy.

Legibility    The dark blue liquid is easily read against our white-backed stem for additional assurance against errors.

Guarantee    Each PerformaTherm is 100% guaranteed, when used properly, for the life of the instrument.

ASTM-like Precision    PerformaTherm meets all ASTM standards for accuracy, tolerance and uncertainty. Each instrument is completely manufactured in our ISO-9001 certified New York facility, then certified at five points in our ISO/IEC Guide 25 Accredited Laboratory. The data sheet on the next page gives full technical specifications for all PerformaTherm instruments.

PerformaTherm thermometers are available in protective blue leatherette cases, both individually and in sets, in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Each thermometer is supplied with a two page report of calibration including the corrections to the nearest 1/10th scale division, and the NIST traceability, uncertainty and test methods used. See our separate data sheet for a listing of all PerformaTherm instruments.
